From my base in Keith, Moray, I provide a variety of services to all HGV and PSV operators, solicitors and related organisations throughout Scotland and the UK. My background is twenty years with the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) including fifteen as a Traffic Examiner and I hold a CPC in National Haulage.

I offer a confidential, personal and focused service highly relevant to the operator, assisting with a view to overall compliance and potential cost savings and can provide the following;

  • An audit or health check on transport operations with clear guidance and a written report to ensure compliance with regulations. I can also help if you are being investigated by VOSA and require assistance or have received a fixed penalty or prohibition.
  • The installation of compliant systems and procedures where none exist or the update and upgrade of current systems that may be out of date.  This can include tachograph analysis, both analogue and digital, working time directive compliance, driving licence requirements, maintenance procedures, calibrations, prevention of overloading etc.
  • Help you understand, manage and lower your Operator Compliance Risk Score
  • Advice and assistance for prospective new operators on becoming a licensed transport contractor, own account operator or owner driver from before application, including the necessary forms and paperwork, through to acquiring a licence and beyond.
  • Assistance with changes to an operator licence including environmental advice on operating centres, adding or removing vehicles, changes of legal entity and CPC management.
  • For a low monthly fee I will be available for unlimited advice by phone and keep you up to date with changes in legislation or policy by regular newsletter.
  • To provide advice directly to operators with regard to Public Inquiries and the analysis and presentation of evidence.
  • Advice to agricultural undertakings in the legal requirements that appertain to their use of vehicles and machinery, including haulage activities, on public roads.
  • Advice on the regulations surrounding the movement of abnormal loads (inc. STGO) and hazardous goods
  • To act as an expert witness to law firms, and provide assistance with court actions and Public Inquiries relating to transport related action.
  • The provision of training for management and drivers in tachographs and working time directive requirements.
